Medicare
If you are on Medicare or soon to be on Medicare, then there is some very important information you will need to know!As a Medicare beneficiary you have three basic options. It's very important that you understand these options before you choose a plan.
- Medicare alone: You will be responsible for all out of pocket cost that Medicare doesn’t cover. (ex.) $ 1100 Part A deductible when you go in the hospital. $155 part B annual deductible and 20% co-insurance. (There is no action required for this option)
- Purchase a Medicare Supplement insurance plan: This will help you cover the cost that Medicare doesn’t pay for; you will be able to go to any doctor or hospital you choose. You will also need to buy a Part D Prescription drug plan. Supplement plans start at about $120.00 per month and could go as high as $300 per month depending on you age, where you live in FLORIDA and which one of 10 different plans you select. RX plans start at about $24.00 per month and up
- Medicare Advantage Plans: These HMO plans may not be available in all counties in FLORIDA and included benefits for Part A, B & D. You pay small co-payments for some service. You must use the participating network doctors and hospitals. In those counties that do offer it, many are available with no monthly plan premium.
As you can see this could get very confusing. Which option is right for you? NOT SURE? Then let us help you. We will answer all your questions and help you to select the best plan that fits your needs.
